Motivation

Learn best practices when designing visual dashboards.

Remember, it’s all about communication! Dashboards are primarily a means to communicate information. Ideally, they should display aggregated information – too much details often slow viewers down without providing much benefits. In this course, we show some key design concepts when building dashboards. We talk about visual perception in humans and how this affects dashboard design. And we demonstrate some key steps to make the most important dashboard information more understandable. Finally, we present some pros and cons of the most often seen visualization types.
